treatise on parallel ports

dear mac,
my father refuses to believe that you do not have parallel ports and only USB hubs on my macbook. quite simply, he has flung himself into crisis mode. how is it that we will be able to hook up my grandmother's HP4000 laser printer if i do not have a parallel port?
